The simplest philosophy
This philosophy is the initial catalyst for everything I have built for myself.
The reason why I go against the status quo and do my own thing.
The same reason why I dropped out of college.
The exact reason why people who don’t follow this extremely simple philosophy have shitty and un-fulfilling lives.
The world’s simplest philosophy:
“Do what makes you happy. And if it doesn’t make you happy, stop doing it”
Can you believe that?
Something so simple, a philosophy so basic that not doing it can be the root cause of your un-happiness.
The sad part is that most people don’t follow this philosophy.
They go through life doing a job they hate, with a partner that disrespects them and takes them for granted… And the worst part is that they accept this as a part of their lives.
When I’m travelling I’m happy. My “friends” message me from back home curious on how I’m doing. I tell them that I’m so happy and have never been this fulfilled in my life.
Only positive emotions.
It’s funny how some people, even friends, get mad when you tell them how happy you are. They see the un-happiness in themselves and want you to be on their level.
I can only imagine the agony of waking up EVERY. FUCKING. DAY, and doing something that you hate. Not because it if forced upon you but rather because you accept it as your reality.
I would even take this philosophy further-
“Taking advice from average people will in turn make you average. And average people die full of regret.”
Damn that’s powerful.
The number one regret of the dying is that they wish that they would have worked less and have done what they wanted instead of doing what is expected of them by other people.
How many times has an average person given you tips on how to get rich?
How many times has an average person given you advice on how to live your life?
How many times has an average person given you relationship advice and they have only had bad relationships?
This is your life. Do what the fuck you want to do.
“In 100 years everyone on this earth will be gone and soon after the memories of them too”
Please read that again….
Depressing thought. Yes
The most liberating thought also? Yes.
I do what I want and only have positive emotions and good, uplifting people in my life.
It saddens me when I see a young person graduate from college, get a job in corporate America and bitch about it every day.
It saddens me when I hear one of my friends complaining about how their girlfriend cheated on them and is no longer fun to be around.
Break up with her.
It used to sadden me when I went to college and heard people complain about going to class and getting swamped with homework.
Such a simple philosophy can have drastic improvement on the quality of life it internalized and used correctly.
This is your life. Stop living for other people and choose yourself to be happy.
Free yourself from the shackles of bullshit emotions and people by doing what makes you happy.
